How To Go Eco Green

The world’s climate is changing. Global warming is doing harmful things to people, animals and plants. The main cause of global warming is electrical pollution. Electricity causes pollution in many way. In most cases, fossil fuels are burned to create electricity.  Many pollutants (chemicals that pollute the air, water, and land) are released into the air when fossil fuels are burned.  Therefore, it is important for us to rely less on fossil fuels and more on alternative forms of energy that give off less pollution. In this part of the blog, we shall focus on how we can save our environment by being eco-friendly. So, what is eco-friendly?

Eco Friendly Means :

-    Live in harmony with your environment and do not exploit it.

-    Live with sustainable practice and do not waste solar energy or resources.

-    Being concerned about the health of the environment

Advantages :

-    Prepares you a life without dependence of oil. Oil as we know is behind just about everything that we take for granted in contemporary society - from energy and food production, to transport and textiles to live. As we strive to be more and more eco-friendly we will find that we move away from dependence on oil. This will be a great personal advantage when the supplies start being strained. We will notice it first of all in our own cost of living. As oil prices rise and become scarcer so will all the products and services that stem from oil use. If we have learned to do without these things, save our own  lives when the oil runs out or have found cheaper non-oil based alternatives, we will find that we can carry on as normal when less eco-friendly people are struggling.

-    Lower energy bill and we wouldn't run out of limited solar sources, such as petroleum or natural gas, so quickly.

-    Solar Energy  will be clean, renewable (unlike gas, oil and coal) and sustainable, helping to protect our environment.

-    It actively contributes to the decrease of harmful greenhouse gas emissions.

-    Solar energy will last longer on earth to produce power for everything we use in our daily lives from our homes, businesses, cars, and even airplanes.

Consequence of Not Being Eco Friendly :

-    The price of energy keeps rising

-    The earth's atmosphere gets more polluted.

-    Global warming raises sea levels and sea temperature, causing climate changes and rendering inhabitable large areas of low lying land.

-    Environmental damage from energy production changes the balance of nature, with unpredictable consequences.

-    Often use electricity unnecessarily, which increases our carbon footprint.

-    Food production and distribution would be affected.

How To Be Eco-Friendly?

-    Eating more healthy locally produced organic foods, to eliminating harmful chemicals from your environment.

-    From walking or riding a bike when places that are close, to returning to traditional solutions for heating and cooling your dwelling.

-    Growing our own food, harvesting and preserving our own supplies, then we stand a chance of surviving when everyone else is rushing to the empty supermarket.

-    Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Compost - Reusing packaging material saves more energy than recycling. By avoiding extra packaging, you save both energy and landfill space. Yard and kitchen waste are 30% of trash. Reduce this amount by composting. Also be sure to re-use plastic bags, or better yet... refuse plastic bags when you really don't need them.

-    Save water - Don't let tap water run. Take low flow short showers. Run the dishwasher only when it is full.

-    Quit smoking - Second-hand smoke is a major indoor air pollutant and health hazard. When you quit, both you and your family will lead longer and healthier lives.

-    Dispose of old paint, chemicals, and oil properly - Don't put paint, motor oil, or chemicals in the trash. Use proper toxic disposal sites. Never buy more than you need.

-    Lights Off - Whenever possible, keep lights off during the day. Consider installing a well insulated skylight if more light is needed. Encourage family members to get in the habit of turning off lights when they leave a room.

-    Plant a tree or buy a cloth bag to bring in the grocery shop so you don’t need to use plastic bags

-    Plant a tree with a child - Teaching  students to love and care for the planet is the most important thing we can do to insure the future of humankind.

We will find that if we are really ecologically friendly then we stand the best chance of all.
